About the event

Profs and Pints Baltimore presents: “Understanding Immigration,” a deep and nuanced examination of today’s immigration realities, trends, and challenges, with Ernesto Castañeda, professor of sociology and director of the Immigration Lab and the Center for Latin American and Latino Studies at American University.

Gain an informed, data-driven perspective on it with Ernesto Castañeda, an acclaimed researcher of immigration patterns and immigrant communities and the author of books such as Immigration Realities: Challenging Common Misperceptions and Reunited: Family Separation and Central American Youth Migration.

In a talk tailored to be non-partisan and accessible to all, Dr. Castañeda will discuss immigration and the challenges it poses both at our borders and in our nation’s interior. He’ll look at why people migrate, the scale…
